Yerba mate, also known as Paraguayan tea, is made from the leaves of the holly tree, which grows naturally in South America. It is characterized by an intense, distinctive flavour.

Local tribes believed that yerba mate brew supports the body's resistance to mental and physical fatigue  as well as helps maintain a healthy body weight.

Preparation method:

  1. Pour 1 teaspoon (3 g) of tea into a 200 ml cup. Then pour in 70-85°C water. Cover and steep for 10-15 minutes.

  2. Pour in yerba mate, filling the cup about 1/2 to 3/4 full. Then, cover the spout with your hand, pour the herbs to one side of the container, and pour a little water (at room temperature) between the heap of herbs and the side of the container. Wait until all the water is absorbed, then insert the bombilla where the water was previously poured. Fill the container with hot water (approx. 70-85°C). After about 2-5 minutes of steeping, the infusion is ready to drink.
